This week in Battle Rap.. Are you ready to rumble?

This Week in Battle Rap
Are You Ready to Rumble?
This week in battle rap have been a little slow but there is excitement in some events coming up that is going to make some major statements. Actually Tonight will be major as two big events are going on in New York City, Double Impact 2 from URL and For the Love of Paper at We Go Hard.

We Go Hard Event is headlined by some big battles from vets like Daylyt vs Bangz which should be interesting, Charlie Clips vs Gwitty who is a crowd favorite and Cortez vs Ish Mulah who is a battler who has been on the come up with very good showings recently.

Double Impact 2 looks like it’s going be epic. Hitman Holla and Aye Verb from St.Louis are making they come back to URL going against Hungry and vicious, T –Top and Brizz Rawsteen. Also returning to the stage is Midwest vets Young Miles and X Factor battling legends of this 2 on 2 competition NWX, K Shine and DNA. Charlie Clips and Goodz are joining forces taking on Jersey’s own Arsonal and ShotGun Suge. This event is going be lit.

The Announcement of U Dubb Newark vs Harlem event came out this week. Headlining this event on Aug 5 is the return of the legendary Loaded Lux who name in battle rap is at the top of all time discussion. He is up against Arsonal another legend who says this is his last battle making this a classic in the making. Also on this card is Shotgun Suge vs Head Ice who is the Kotd champ right now.

One battle that came out this week that had the culture buzzing was Brizz Rawsteen vs Ill Will that was on Nome 7 earlier this year. This battle was super intense. Both mc’s came out with crazy energy and by the looks of it had to be the battle of the night. In the First round Ill Will came out killing it with punch after punch. It seem he had Brizz on the ropes but Brizz fought back so hard it was impressive. It seem to be like this every round as Brizz edge every one. This battle is a must see for any true battle rap fan. I’m surprised it wasn’t talked about more to be honest.

RBE released a battle that had people talking. O Red vs Showoff was highly anticipated as it showed two mc’s that battle rap respects as two talented hardcore lyricists. Showoff seemed a little bit off in this battle. He even said that O red was one his favorites so I think this what led to him not being as savage as I seen him in other battles. O red showed that he has to be one of the most underrated battle rappers in the game. His First and Third rounds was out of this world. He kept going at showoff with name flips and personals. He looked super focused. I hope he gets some big battles in the future. He also got a big match up on U Dubb vs K Shine which should be very interesting Red is getting my vote as battler of the year so far.

JakkBoy Maine and Ryda vs Snake Eyez and Dougy a war between NY and Dmv released this week on URL showcasing some of the leagues newest gunners. The Goonies (Ryda and Jakk) have been causing a lot of commotion in the culture as of late so I was excited to see what they had to bring to the table in this battle and let me say I was not disappointed as they showed a lot of creativity and chemistry in they’re rounds. Snake Eyez and Dougy had a great first round but lost steam a little bit. I had The DmV 2-1 in this very entertaining match up.

The battle of the week is a battle that caught my attention. Aaliyah vs Starr White was an awkward but funny battle as these two ladies came out gunning at each other with very hardcore lines. This battle had an old school smack DVD feel which I like. The awkwardness about it was the elephant in the room as what was Aaliyah’s Gender? It was defiantly a question that was in my mind. I know I wasn’t the only one as I seen a couple people asking the same thing on FB. Starr White have been making her presence in battle rap groups with her funny, outspoken personality so I was intrigue to see if she had what it takes as this was her first battle on screen. It was entertaining so check it out. Keep tuned to everything battle rap in Battlebox group on FB.

This Week in Battle Rap.. New on the Radar

This Week in Battle Rap

New on the Radar
This week was eye opening in a sense of seeing new talent rise up the ranks. There has been a couple battles that showed that battle rap keeps coming with talented people from all over the country. This to me shows growth in the culture. Mc’s from all types of backgrounds and cultures stepping up and revealing that battle rap is here to stay if they have anything to say about it.

I Battle TV has been putting out a gang of battles recently. All hungry new comers setting out to show they’re talent. Red Flag vs Bubba Forde was an awkward but enentertaining match as it paired up two of the most opposite opponents they could fine. Red Flag who has an array of clever punchlines went up against Bubba Forde a mc with performance and aggression. This battle was crazy as Bubba started his round with screaming at the top of his lungs IS YOU BLOOD?

Another I Battle Match that people were talking about this week was Jeffrey vs Goodz. The talk was more about Jeffrey who Goodz called in his battle the white version of himself. Jeffrey defiantly has the swag and the lyrics to make him a vet and a name like Goodz. This battle was entertaining and the closest you’ll see to a mirror match.

Kotd came out this week with another match from Blackout 7, A Ward vs DNA. A Ward a battle rapper who is very lyrical and also reps his Christian faith has shot up the ranks fast battled the solid and always top notch DNA of NWX. DNA came as he always does with three solid rounds and clean cut straight to the point lyrics and performance. A Ward in this battle defiantly wanted to prove he can out bar his opponent and he had some good material to do just that. This battle is for the battle rap purists to debate as both Mc’s did they thing.

Another Christian Battle Rapper who is making noise is Street Hymns who made a name for himself at Bullpen Battle league as an upcoming beast in battle rap. I checked out his battle with Brixx Belvy and let me say I was impressed. Street Hymns was steady as he schemed and defiantly repped his faith in this battle. I like how he had a good mix of battle aggression at the same time not falling away from his beliefs. A 3-0 performance from him in this battle.

Fonzie vs In$ight from Body Bag Battle League was fire too. Two Younger Guys in Battle rap showed that they can lyrically hold they own as they went toe to toe in this one rounder. This style Clash was packed with schemes and punchlines to keep any average fan amused.

URL came out the gate with two Battles this week. Geechi Gotti vs Stuey Newton showcased the West as both Mc’s reside from Western states. Geechi Gotti from Los Angeles, CA and Stuey from Seattle, Washington competed to see who the one to watch out of this region .Stuey was solid in each of his rounds even stunning the crowd with sharp rebuttals and all but Geechi Gotti was on fire and left earth in this battle. He even took shots at Funk Flex for his rant on a West Coast Legend Tupac. Gotti is a star and URL has to push him to the main stage.

The Battle of the week is Prez Mafia vs Money Bagz in this FDW vs Team Homi Match up. This battle was highly debatable. So tell me who yall think won. Continue to check out Battlebox on FB for all new battle content. Follow me on IG @ Sluganucci and on twitter @Mill_Coleone.

BARZ BATTLE RAP LEAGUE PRESENTS ROULETTE VOL3 RED VS Black

BARZ Battle Rap League held a groundbreaking Online Battle event this past weekend. BARZ Roulette Vol 3 Red vs Black presented 20 of the USA best Online Battle Rappers going head to head to claim supremacy to see who the best team of BARZ Battle Rap League is. These battles showcased a variety of talent and made for an entertaining weekend.

The Main Event Swakay vs Hustla Hill was actually a Disstrack Battle in which both mc’s had to prepare a diss track towards each other and the judges picked whose song and video was better. With the judges scoring the battle 2-1 to Hustla Hill. Hustla Hill is the 4th Disstrack Champion and he proudly showed everybody on the page with his Disstrack Champ Shirt. Congratulations and nice showing from both Mc’s.

Next Battle was Gator vs 3D. Gator came with aggression and schemes, while 3D was more personal with his angles making this an enjoyable and close battle.
Bliz vs DeeBarz was punchline heavy as both Mc’s specialize in killer lines and it really seem they wanted to prove something in this battle. Deebarz been getting a lot of slack as he is a vet and proclaimed Barz champ so Bliz was defiantly trying to take him off his throne.

Lubes and Raymund RDC was a barfest. Lubes was very lyrical and intricate in his rounds while Raymund RDC came with a true Battle Rapper style with comedy, wit and hard punchlines. This was a preference battle. Very debatable and could go either way. I think they need another round to see who wins this match up.

Tommy B vs Dauno and Foulceadea vs James Carson was a bit onsided as Tommy B and Foul attacked they’re opponents a fierce way. Salute to Dauno and James Carson for showing up and competing but this shows that there is levels to this online battle game.

Milton Hobbs vs Joey the Sickness showcased two up and coming battlers. Milton coming off his great rookie performance with Foulceadea while this was Joey the Sickness first Barz Battle Solo. Both Mc’s showed that they can hang in this platform. Milton Hobbs first round was spectacular and Joey the Sickness second round was innovative with him using props and all. Very entertaining battle and Barz hopes to see more of these guys in the future.

The battle that made the most noise in this event had to be Mayhem vs Shadow Bishop. This controversial Battle got intense and personal to the point kids were mentioned. Tension started thru comments leading up to this match and it showed in both mc’s rounds. Shadow started with haymakers but it didn’t rattle mayhem as he stuck with his nonstop murderous flow. IN Shadow’s second round, He went deep and talked to Mayhem soul coming at his character and even his kids. This made Mayhem very upset as he even address it on a blog leading to his second round. Seeming a little thrown off Mayhem try to out due shadow but it didn’t hit as much. No doubt this battle was the most entertaining of the event.

This week in battle rap.. Stars Shining Bright

This Week in Battle Rap.. Stars Shining Bright

Hey. It’s another crazy week in battle rap as there was a lot of content that came out to everybody surprise. Recently there has been a complaint that battles wasn’t coming out quick enough for the public. As a fan, I have to say that it does take some patience waiting for some of these match ups.Especially when Bloggers and other people who got to see the events live comment they’re thoughts on some of these battles already. So this week was enjoyable to see that some of the battles that were on everybody’s list to see came out.

First up was a big match on RBE, Bigg K vs. JC. Bigg K has come off some losses in my opinion and needed a good showing to keep his stock as one of the top tier battle rappers. JC has really took a catapult to the top of the crop with stellar performances recently vs. Craig Lamar and Chef Trez. This battle didn’t disappoint either as both Mc’s were on top of they’re game. Bigg K came more with the jokes and the witty lines, while JC came with haymakers and intricate setups. This was a preference battle. I had JC 2-1 but it’s defiantly debatable.

Joe vs Holmzie, a URL PG, was fire. Both Rappers came out swinging with some crazy rounds. This battle was crazy but the thing that had everybody talking was the crowd. The Gas was in the building as they say as the crowd really reacted a lot in the battle. Making the conversation that does the crowd mess up battles sometime. I say you can’t really get mad cause if you were there live you would probably react too.
Another good battle that surprised me was Jai 400 Block vs Pharaoh on WGH. Jai 400 is getting better every time I see him battle. He has a big match coming at Ascension on June 11 vs. Dougy (another WGH Vet) so this was a warm up for him. Prez Mafia, who also has a big match against Cortez at Ascension, had a great performance against Craig Lamar on IBattle TV. This was a 3-0 for Prez as he just really bullied Craig Lamar who is a formable opponent.

Some other battles I enjoyed was IMBL Jose Ceuvo vs. B Tyme. IMBL , a Memphis battle league showcases some of the best talent coming out of the south and I like they’re battles. Some of the matches really have me laughing because they’re mc’s come with more jokes and it’s a breath of fresh air. Another match that had me laughing was Goodz vs Billy Boondocks at the Honey comb Hideout. Goodz started swaging in the beginning with his wit and jokes turning the crowd on the unorthodox Billy. Boondocks who is a character to say the least still came with his awkward style and it made for an entertaining couple of minutes.

Daylyt vs Cortez was absolutely fire. Kotd Blackout 7 main event, this battle had two of my personal favorites going head to head. These two went in on each other. Daylyt was more lyrical while Cortez was more personal. I had Cortez 2-1 making this a good showing before his battle with Prez Mafia coming up. Daylyt has a match with Bangz on WGH on June 24.

New Trailers Came this week for Double Impact 2 on URL which had everybody excited seeing some of Battle raps biggest names teaming up with each other like HitMan Holla and Aye Verb and Charlie Clips and Goodz. Massacre 3 on KOTD looks like it’s going be crazy as the main event is a match that a lot of fans want to see Bigg K vs Pat Stay. WGH has an event called For the Love of Money which has matches like Gwitty vs Charlie Clips and Daylyt vs Bangz

The Battle of the week come from Shotgun Suge vs Ave from URL Nome 7. This battle was intense as Suge wasted no time in Pocket Checking and coming full force at Ave. Ave who is known for his punchlines was a little more direct with his approach trying to keep up with Suge aggression. I don’t know if it was technical problems or the crowd but Ave seemed a little off. Whatever the case this battle was crazy and defiantly a must see. Check it out at the bottom. Join Battlebox on FB for all new Battle Rap content and see yall next week. Easy
