This Week in Battle Rap.. Coastal Warz

This Week in Battle Rap
Coastal Warz

This week in battle rap showed why the culture is spreading all over the map. Battles headlining different mc’s from all over the country came out this week. With all types of drama with YouTube and bloggers and battlers going back and forth, Battle Rap needs to show a more positive light, that it is going in the right direction. So here are some of the most entertaining battles I seen in a while.

First I have to talk about the battle of the week in my opinion Geechi Gotti vs Glueazy. Geechi Gotti a new comer coming out of Los Angeles, CA, has been making a name for himself in the URL ranks. His presence and performance is very strong and he reps LA and Gang Life thru all his bars. Glueazy from North Carolina have been on fire since his BBBL days. Coming off good battles between Bedafi Green, R Streetz and New Jerzy Twork, Glueazy showed that he is one to watch. These elements made this match up very intriguing. The First Round both mc’s came out killing it and it was hard to call. I had Gotti edging it slightly. The Second round, I had Glu taking it convincingly. This battle comes down to the third round with Glu taking the more personal approach while Geechi spit some real life bars that people at this CA event could relate to. Either way the fans won because this battle was fire.

Arsonal vs Iron Solomon came out this week from KOTD and it didn’t disappoint. Arsonal as usual was super disrespectful as it was one of his last showings before his retirement. He went as far as knocking Iron Solomon hat off his head in the third round .Classic Arsonal if I must say so. This was a clear 3-0 body from Arsonal .

Daylyt vs Bangz was a very good battle. Hilarious as each mc traded punches and rebuttals coming at each other with multiple insults.Daylyt, a LA Veteran came to NY prepared to battle on We Go Hard as he made the crowd go wild with his crazy orthodox style. Bangz as We Go Hard favorite took his bars up to the next level and took this battle 2-1.

Do or Die Battle League released Goodz vs D.I. da Hennyman this week. I was in the building for this battle and let me say it was epic. This event was fire and this battle was one of the main events. In this one rounder Goodz came swaging as usual with cold punchlines directed at Henny, not the rapper but the liquor. D.I. da Hennyman kept his composure and went at goodz with a crazy round and edging this won nicely making his name known from this battle.

Aye Verb vs Mr. Mill$ came out and this is a battle that showed a veteran who is giving a shot vs a hungry battle rapper that is relevant. In this three round battle, Mr. Mill$ from Indiana came cooking in the first two rounds and really out rapped The St. Louis Legend. Aye Verb took the third round as he talked about his life in battle rap. This was a good battle to watch, short and sweet.
Other Battles that had the fans talking was Cortez vs Ish Mullah on We Go Hard and SEA Movement released Jai Shove vs Nina Cruzae. Both Crazy with mad bars and defiantly ones to watch. Peep them below or on Battlebox on FB

This week in Battle Rap .. The New Era

This Week in Battle Rap.. New Era
This week has been a crazy one for battle rap. A lot of controversy and drama in the culture from battle groups and bloggers like Rome DMV and BattleTruth. Sometimes the drama outweigh whats suppose to be the focus which is the battles. This week there was a lot of good battles that came out. So lets bring some light to this new era in battle rap. With so much new talented artists that’s coming to the culture, I see a new regime establishing itself.

SYIGU, a up and coming battle league out of Southern New Jersey recently released three good battles back to back this week. First Truth Watson vs Lexx Luthor showed two talented battlers coming crazy in this classic one rounder. Then for the acclaimed SYIGU Championship, K illa the current champion battled J storm. J Storm brought his A-Game in this battle and claimed the title. The one I saw that was the most entertaining on camera was J Murda vs J Krooger in what was almost a mirror match between two similar rappers. They both had schemes and punchlines in this battle making it hard to call. This battle was real lyrical and one to watch coming from Summer Slam 2k17 event.

KOTD came out with two major battles this week from their successful MASS3 event. Hollow the Don vs Dizaster a Surprise battle from this event showed why these guys are consider two of the best in battle rap. They both came with they best as this was a preview of whats to come in they main event battle coming soon. Pat Stay vs Bigg K was a super fire match that the people been waiting to see on this platform. Pat came more with jokes and angles in his first round. Bigg K shut it down tho in his round and came away winning the first round. The second round I gave to Pat because he was saying some real things about K but in the end I think Bigg K consistent bars and punches gave him the win. 2-1.
B Magic a vetran in battle rap made his come back this week against E Ferrell. This battle showcased Magic as he was in rareform with his classic punchlines. Back to back clever lines was too much for e Ferrell. B Magic is back and I think he going be a problem for Born who he is battling soon on RBE.

Queen of the Ring released a new battle with two new ladies in battle rap Dina Brass vs T White. Queen of the Ring have been a staple for bring new women to battle rap . This battle showed both ladies coming to prove they deserve to be on this stage. Im a fan of Dina Brass, she is dope and have a unique style. I think she is one to watch at Queen of the Ring.
The best battles I seen this week came from new comers in the game. First Works vs KingFat Boi was a gritty encounter that had a old school smack dvd feel. I had Works 2-1 but I like King Fat Boi philly/Norristown style. He reminds me of a young , hungry Rosenberg Raw.

IMBL out of Memphis released a crazy battle between Switch and Sammy Wild 100 that was fire. This three round battle had me tuned in cause the two battlers was spewing venom at each other at a high level. The south has some spitters and it showed in this battle. Sammy Wild 100 is going be a problem. His third round was wicked as he broke Switch down about his girlfriend. This was one of the best battles I seen on the IMBL platform.

The battle of the week came from URL/ Proving Grounds Mack Mel vs R Streetz. These two are going be stars in URL. They was Wigging out in this battle. Mack Mel third round was special while R Streetz came with solid rounds thru out the battle. This is the one to see. So check it out below or on Battlebox on FB

This Week in Battle Rap.. Super Heroes

This Week in Battle Rap

Super Heroes….

Battle Rap Culture has evolved in recent years to be a Big Movement in entertainment. This week solidified Battle raps spotlight with the release of the Trailer for “Bodied”, a motion picture produced by Eminem that shines a light on the battle rap scene. In the trailer it had some vicious bars From Dizaster attacking a nerd type dude. Bodied looks to be big for battle rap overall.

Also Alpha Omega Event by Udubb went down this past weekend with one of the best battles of the year Loaded Lux vs Arsonal. This battle had a lot of people chiming in and I can’t wait until the footage comes out. Both mc’s went in as this was Arsonal’s last battle. I would like to salute Arsonal for all he has contributed to the culture. He defiantly went out with a bang and a great showing. Loaded Lux legend continues to build, Love or Hate him, he is one of the best to ever do it.

URL/ We Go Hard released a great battle from Lexx Luthor vs Bedafi Green. Both Mc’s are up and coming and very talked about among battle rap groups on various social media sites. Bedafi Green has had some up and down performances so it was good to see him get back to his “I said That” form in this battle. His round was very good as I had him edging the ever witty and comical Lexx Luthor.

Another battle that surprised me was Charlie Clips vs Danja Zone. Clips who is known a bit for being lackluster battling lesser names came with three solid rounds in this battle. He went crazy in his first round against Danja and needless to say he won off his opening round imo. Danja Zone is a beast though as he fought back but a focused Clips is hard to beat. I was Glad to see Charlie back in his beast mode and not on his Wildin out joking around stage. This was a very good battle.

J Murda vs Floss da Boss was a RBE Battle that made to be entertaining but in a different way. Both Mc’s were coming at each other in a way that seemed very disrespectful and personal. J murda more so came pushing and shoving Floss and people almost had to step in as things almost got physical. Then J Murda with the ultimate disrespect Burped in Floss face while he was rapping. This battle had bars but was overlooked by the foolishness in the match up. Cooler heads prevailed in the end though, so respect to them for that.

Diesel vs Moon a URL PG came out this week and it didn’t disappoint. Moon, an older gentlemen rounds schooled diesel about the streets and let it be known that in battles age aint nothing but a number. Diesel came at Moon hard in his 2&3 rounds making this a very competitive match up. This is what the proving grounds is all about. I look to see more battles from these two Mc’s.

The battles of the week is from SYIGU Summer Slam event from a couple weeks ago that I attended live. LP Dame vs Geez the Mechanic and Monstar vs Nunn Nunn. These two battles were fire. Dope showing from these rappers as they defiantly Stepped they Ink Game Up.. Salute to everybody that was involved at the event. For more battles join Battlebox on FB.
