This Week in Battle Rap... Sunglasses @ Night

This Week in Battle Rap

Sunglasses @ Night

This was a big week in battle rap due to one of the biggest events of the year URL’s Summer Madness 6. The battles from that event were heard to be all well worthy matches and there was a lot to talk about from each one. I can’t wait till the footage officially comes out from the event. There was a lot of content that came out this week so let’s get to it.

First SYIGU battle League released two battles from they’re Torture Chamber 3 event, Homeskool vs King Animal was first to drop from this small room battle forum. I loved the way this battle looked from the red lighting and the way the video was edited. In this battle, I was Homeskool first battle and he seemed like a vet. He was charismatic and witty and even had props in his first round making his rounds to be very entertaining and getting his first win.

Stampede vs Gambit was the second from Torture Chamber 3 to drop and this one was crazy. In this one round battle, Gambit goes first and came with a lot of lyrical over the head bars to show he is one of jersey’s best writers. Stampede was super aggressive out the gate, coming with punch after punch winning the crowd. The move to put this over the edge is when his counterpart Ms. Miami jumped in and assisted with some lines. This won the battle to me.

KOTD dropped two battles from Mass3 this week. Mickey Factz vs Daylyt came out to everybody surprise and it was fire. Mickey Factz a well-known rapper in the industry tested the battle waters against one of the greats of battle rap Daylyt. Mickey came to play in this battle showing he had what it takes to go up against the best. Daylyt seemed uninspired and lackluster in his performance. He got bodied in this one. Mickey 3-0.

DNA vs Jimz was a fire battle. Both Guys from Queens, NY came with they’re best in this crazy grudge match. This had to be the best Jimz performance I ever seen. His first round was tough but his second round he pulled out props and all and put a great performance together. With all that said DNA shows why he is one of the best as he edged each round even coming back with rebuttals and schemes that wowed the crowd. I gave Jimz the third round, so I got it DNA 2-1. Very entertaining battle.

UDUBB Network released a battle from the Alpha Omega event, O red vs K Shine. O red has been on a tear lately winning against Ave and Showoff so I was excited to see what he had for K shine. Shine a veteran that comes with three solid rounds every time is hard to beat. The first round is debatable but I gave it to k shine as he seemed like he wasn’t fazed by what o red was saying. The second Round O Red came harder and I gave him the edge. In the Third O red change his clothes to be a therapist and started to break K shine down with his performance. O Red won 2-1 and showed why he might be a candidate for battler of the year.

The Battle of the Week has to be Big Kannon vs Danja Zone. On the RBE stage, these two ex-partners of Writer’s Block came at each other’s neck in this lyrical clash. It almost came to blows at the end. They both came hard and this battle is highly debatable. This has to be the best of the week. Watch this and all the others below and on Battlebox Group on FB.

This Week in Battle Rap.. Do You See Me?

This Week In Battle Rap

Do You See Me?

This week in battle rap bought some surprising performances from some stars that I believe are underrated in the culture. Before I get into that This Saturday is what considered the Super Bowl of Battle Rap Summer Madness 6 is going down. With that being said , there hasn’t been much build up or promotion for it by the league and also the battlers themselves .Battlers who blog and go back and forth build the fight up. I don’t know why they don’t have press conferences and things of that nature to kind of get a energy up for the event. Whatever the case real fans are looking forward to these match ups that could all be classics.

O-Solo vs Serius Jones came out this week and were very entertaining. The two Jersey Vets came with a lot of aggression and cleverness that had me saying ohhh thru the whole battle. U Dubb Network definitely puts out classics that keep fans anticipating what they have coming next.

Do or Die Battle League released two very good battles from they’re Mayhem Event which I was in the building  for. Gawalla Uno vs Goldie first was a enjoy to watch two battlers from the dmv area go at it in this slugfest. Two very different styles made for a style clash and it was about who you prefer. But DNA amd K Shine vs Drugz and Quban was definitely fire. Being there to see this live was a honor to see NWX in performance mode. DNA and K Shine as partners are almost unbeatable because of they’re chemistry. They brought the house down and to me it was the battle of the night.

BullPen Battle League put out two good battles as well with two of the most underrated in the game getting shine. X Cel vs C Moneii was a good battle . X Cel shows why he is one of my personal favs cause he comes with a good performance every time he battles. Crafting dope lines and schemes that go over heads a lot of the time. I Felt he edged every round in this battle.

Syah vs Bonnie Godiva was a match from their QOTR vs Bullpen event. I mostly don’t like Male vs Female battles but I watched this one because Syah is another mc who doesn’t get the looks he deserve. He had his hand full in this match going up against arguably the best female battler in the game Bonnie Godiva who recently got some looks on Nick Cannon show Wildin Out. This battle was Fire. Definitely one to watch.

URL did it once again as they released a battle from Double Impact 2. Math Hoffa and Cortez vs Ill Will and Rum Nitty was an absolute Crazy battle. Math Hoffa and Cortez come together to form NYB going up against Team Homi members Ill Will and Rum Nitty. In the First Round Will and Nitty came out on fire like they been a team for years. They had mad energy and it looked bad for NYB. But when Math and Cor started they round, I knew they were ready as they were so connected they had a part where they synchronize swim in the round. I gave them the first. The second round I gave to NYB also as they had fire rebuttals and did way better than I think anybody expected. I gave the third to Ill Will and Rum Nitty mainly because of crazy lines from Rum and a fire rebuttal from will. This battle was debatable to say the least but I had it Math and Cor 2-1. Let me know what yall think.

The Battle of the Week has to go to Aye Verb vs Charron. Kotd Mass3 event released this classic match between two of the most talked about battlers in the culture Verb from St. Louis going against The Canadian Legend Charron. These two came at each other neck with crazy rounds. The first was debatable . I had Charron edging it because of a verb stumble. The Second went completely to Aye Verb as he had one of his best rounds of the year. The Third is for the fans to decide as it’s a toss-up.
