Veteran’s Day
This week has set the stage for a lot of the well-seasoned battle rappers to showcase why they are fan favorites. Some of the more iconic name in the battle culture hit the stage this week and didn’t disappoint. It has been a week themed with veteran battle rappers who still feel they have something to prove.
The first match of the week gave us two of the more notable names in battle rap going head up. Charlie Clips vs Iron Solomon. This match from KOTD World Domination 6 event, was very entertaining as both mc’s needed to show and prove. Charlie Clips who just came of a dismal performance against Rum Nitty last month, was hearing chatter that he doesn’t take his battles serious. Iron Solomon recently came back from a hiatus following a real bad beating from Murda Mook, wants to show why he is still elite. This made for a classic match of wits because both came to play and come with their best. Clips stole the show in the second round with a variety of jokes on Solomon. In the third round, clips shows why he is still considered one of the best battle rappers of all time. I had him winning this battle 2-1.
Next battle is another one from World Domination Head Ice vs Big T. Head Ice is a seasoned vet who has battled on every league you can think of. Big T of NWX has had a busy year just coming off a classic battle with John John da Don. This battle had some very tough lines and both rappers were on their A- game. Head Ice had the momentum in the first round and had Big T rattled a bit. Big T held his composure and took the next two rounds with clever hard hitting punchlines. They both got busy in this battle making it highly debatable.
Another battle this week that got my attention was 100 bulletz vs. Steams . This match was bar heavy. The clash of styles made this a good batch as 100 bulletz is a more comedic type while Steams is a rapid spitter. They both stayed true to form. So this is a more preference type battle. It’s about who style you like more. I had Steams 2-1 but this one could go either way. This was good to see because you had Steams a well know battler from URL battling 100 bulletz a battler who does his damage mostly on KOTD. This type of match you don’t get to see often as both leagues don’t really interact with each other.
Last and Not least was a battle from Born Legacy 3, Swave Sevah vs. Tink tha Demon. This battle had a lot of hype around it because of the similar style that these mc’s have. Swave showed Tink he still has a way to go to get on his level. This was a clear body. Swave dug into him all three rounds. The Third Round real was the kicker as Swave bought out Th3 Saga to reenact an exorcism . It was crazy. Its going to be a while before tink can come back from this one. It’s a must see so im making it the Battle of the Week.
Also check for Floss the boss vs Swift Millie, Switch vs Jon Coffey and Bill Collector vs Dubb the Feenom. These were also great battles and very entertaining.
